What are the fire ratings for your benches and trashcans, if any?
Great question. As a piece of outdoor furniture that often lives in high-traffic public spaces, I take fire safety very seriously. My benches and trashcans are not just sturdy and weather-resistant—they are also tested for fire resistance.
Most of my metal and powder-coated steel benches have no specific “fire rating” in the traditional sense, because metal does not ignite or contribute to a fire. However, any plastic or resin components I use—for example, slats, lids, or liners—are manufactured to meet UL 94 V-0 standards. This means that in the event of exposure to a small flame, the material self-extinguishes within 10 seconds and does not drip burning particles.
For my trashcans, especially those with plastic liners or decorative shells, I ensure the materials are inherently flame-retardant or treated with fire-resistant coatings. I also offer models that comply with ASTM E84 (Class A) for flame spread, making them suitable for parks, schools, and commercial areas.
In short: if you’re looking for a bench or can that won’t become a fire hazard, I’ve got you covered. Just ask for the “fire-resistant” or “UL 94 V-0 rated” version when ordering. Safety is built into my design, not just an afterthought.
