We have a problem with litter; would adding more trashcans throughout the park actually help?
We stand here, green lungs of the city, feeling the persistent ache of scattered wrappers and abandoned bottles. You ask if simply giving me more mouths—more trash cans—will silence my complaints. The answer isn't a simple yes. While ample, clearly marked bins act as gentle reminders of duty, my experience tells me placement is the true conductor. A can hidden behind a bush sings an empty tune. Strategic duets at entrances, playgrounds, and trailheads perform better.
Yet, I've witnessed the flaw: a bin overflowing becomes a monument to neglect, breeding more disrespect than it gathers. The real solution is a symphony of action. Clear, friendly signage is the melody. Regular, visible emptying by keepers maintains the rhythm. Perhaps most beautiful is educating hearts to carry out what they carry in, reducing the need for my metallic mouths altogether. More cans can help, but only as part of a chorus of care, consistency, and shared responsibility for my well-being.
