How do you prevent graffiti from sticking to the trashcan surfaces?

As a humble trash can standing sentinel on a city corner, I've seen it all. My purpose is clear, but unwanted "art" often tries to claim my exterior. So, how do I, and surfaces like me, prevent graffiti from sticking? The secret is a multi-layered defense.

My environment helps, too. Strategic placement under good lighting and within clear sightlines makes vandals think twice. Regular and prompt maintenance is crucial. The faster an unwanted tag is removed, the less it sets, and the less it encourages others to add more. It sends a clear message: this surface is cared for.

Finally, community engagement is a powerful deterrent. When people take pride in their public spaces, they become my extra set of eyes.
